What do I need to pack for camp?

Here is a sample individual packing you can use for your troop:  Personal Equipment List.  You should edit this list with any other items you will need.

Please be sure to pack for a cabin camporee in winter weather. While you will not need a tent, you will need warm sleeping gear and clothes, warm jackets, and gear for rain and/or snow.

What training do I need?

We will be sleeping in cabins. Each troop will need to have completed Stepping Out and First Aid/CPR, and all adults need to be background checked and complete AB506 Mandated Reporter Training and a Live Scan.

If your troop plans to cook any of your own food or build a campfire, you also need Outdoor Training prior to camp.

What forms do I need?

Troop Leaders to collect and keep with them during the event (see GSCCC Forms page for all forms):

  • 4 Basic annual forms for each girl (Annual Permission, Health History, Medication Permission, Permission to Release Girl Scout)
  • Specific Event/Trip Permission form and High Risk form for low ropes for each girl
  • Troop Driver Information for each driver of girls other than their own daughter(s)

Troop Leader to submit via GSCCC online form 2 weeks prior to the event:

Troop Leader to keep in the First Aid Kit

  • Council Emergency Procedures
  • Incident and Injury Report
  • First Aid Log
Are men allowed to attend?

Yes. Please note, to comply with Girl Scout rules, they will be camping in a separate cabin/area from the rest of the troop. Please keep this in mind, and include additional adults as needed to meet Girl Scout safety guidelines for camping. Contact us at TOGirlScouts@gmail.com with any questions.

What are the cabins like? Do they include bathrooms, showers, fireplaces, etc.?

We have reserved two cabin villages for Oak Tree Camporee. Each cabin village contains six insulated wooden A-frame cabins. Each cabin includes 8 wood-frame bunks with mattress pads (ADA cabin has 7 bunks) with heating and electricity throughout. Each village also includes:

  • Picnic Benches
  • Wood Burning Fire Ring (Outdoor Cooking)
  • Bear-Resistant Container
  • Wi-Fi
  • Community Bathroom Building with Showers
  • ADA Accessible (Including ADA-Compliant Restrooms)
We have some girls that can only come for the day on Saturday. Is this okay?

For this event, due to the location, all attendees must arrive on Friday and leave on Sunday. We will have other events for day only attendees.

Can I drop off my daughter for this event?

This is not a drop off event.  Individual registered Girl Scouts must have a registered adult chaperone in attendance.

Can I bring other family members to the event (i.e. siblings)?

Only registered Girl Scout members may attend this event.  If the family member is a registered Girl Scout (i.e. younger Girl Scout or registered adult volunteer), they can attend with you. Please be sure to include them on your forms, so we know who will attend.
